Wrong Keyboard Layout???

I have just got a standard PS/2 keyboard, with no fancy buttons. after reformatting my HD my keys have been going wrong. For example the @ is actually ". How can i fix this???

P.S. I have already been on the windows site and didn't help what so ever!!!

goto the control panel (start>run type control),

click date,time,language,regional options,

then click on regional and language options

select the correct language (eg UK English or US English).

Press apply :)
