Wtb: R600

Yes, all other games are fantastic, and I love the graphics, blah blah blah. But if it can even handle flight simulator X, then whats that's saying about playing games like Crysis?

Alright, look, how about you stop being so friggin stubborn and awnser/ comment back to other people.

I have one question:

Do you even know what the requirements for cryris are?

if you do, then get a card that will match and exceed those requirements.

It never hurts to be sure and also be ready for the next games. You always need to exceed the requirements! Even F.E.A.R.! I had an XFX 7900GS Extreme. That was past recommended requirements, and STILL lagged with a core 2 duo OC 3GHz 2 GB RAM!!! Only until I got the 8800GTS I could do MAX with good FPS. So you see, even if I were to make exact requirements for the recommended, it wouldst be enough to do it good. So please, don't be stubborn and contradict what I want. what do you care what I want it for? I just want some help. Not your attitude.

I wasent giving attitude i was just trying to hel you out a little bit. But, i dont think anyone knows what PSU you should get for the R600 because the chip isnt even out yet. Mabye you can google the R600 and see if you find anything, but if you REALLY REALLY want to know what PSU you should get i would just say get a 1KW PSU to be safe ;) No one can tell you what PSU to get cause the friggin card isnt even out yet.

IT'S IMPRESSIVE THAT YOU EVEN CAN PLAY FSX ON MAX

my god what do you want? 15 FPS-32FPS is not "unimpressive". FSX was not made to allow really any of today's technology to be enough to run FSX on all ultra high settings, they made it so that it would withstand and work best with future technology. Calm down.
Anyway, rarely do the reccomended specifications for most games allow max settings.

turn off soft shadows, thats such a killer, go 4xaa (temporal) and 16x af

should be fine

This thread just got dragged way off the intended subject, Dragon2309 you are a mod and threw it off.
aaaaw you sound so sad... humble apologies, i didn't realize i wasn't allowed to question a member over the contents and inaccuracies of a few posts he made. Or, wait, am i supposed to just leave the incorrect information there so others will then be mis-informed as well, ok... in future i'll do that, thanks for picking up on that intelcrazy...

I get 60 FPS min on MAX out and hi res. F.E.A.R. I'm not worried about. Lets all calm down. breath in....breath out....breath in....breath out.... now, let all stay realized. :)

OK, lets start all over. Hi, what PSU do you think could power an R600 for a as low of a price as I can get?

The 8800 gts consumes around 150w.. The HD 2900xt could theoretically consume between 180 and 250w.. What is your current PSU? With a relatively small jump (180-200W) like that it's more than possible that your current PSU can handle it. And that's taking into fact that you are using your current power supply to it's max, which you probably aren't.
