wtf 5 gb of files just disapear?

I was unziping a large 2gb file. I waled away to let the computer work. When I got back half of the files on my desktop are gone and they are not in the recycle bin. We are talking aout 10 gb of files. Where the hell did they go?!?!?!??! I have scaned for ad/syywear / virsues and founf nothing.

Well, you say you were unzipping a 2Gb file, which suggests to me that you must have missed zipping some of them? As compression isn't THAT great when zipping.

I've had the same problem whilst extracting huge EXE's,

I think I had a jump from 80 - 90GB on a 1.8GB file

Just showing you that you're not alone with the prob

That's why it's good to, as you often see movies, to rar/zip them into small managable files first, then into one big one.
