WTF? Computers emit CO2?

I'm a noob ok, I was reading an article on how Vista makes computers emit less CO2, Do they mean this for real or what they mean is that Vista makes computers consume less energy therefore electricity companies don't have to produce more energy and pollute the enviroment in order to provide the computer users with more energy?

I'm confused.

It's probably the fact that computers use CO2 and most energy comes from fossil fuels.
