i have a monitor with a native of 1280 by 1024 and i wanted to run a game at half that resolution because if you have a LCD and run at half the native then you wont get the blurry weirdness you get when your out of your native

but then it hit me! half of 1280X1024 is NOT 640X480 its 640X512......640X512?!? iv never heard of that resolution and its not even on the video standards chart http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Video_Standards.PNG so i guess what I'm asking is wtf? i mean the double of 640X480 is 1280X960 which if i'm not mistaken is a widescreen resolution and half of 1280X1024 wasn't ever used! whats going on here?!

especially with a 7900 card...that should be played at no less than 1280 x 960...for widescreen monitors the standard should be 1440 x 900...anything less might actually cause warping

yah really, 640 is crap for games.... seriously, your just wasting almost all potential of that graphics card to shine.... play it on full res and just see, if it is all blurry and wierd as you describe then turn it down a tiny bit, say to 1280x960 or at VERY VERY least 1024x768 but thats scraping it

actually yeah hehehe, ment 4:3 :P

thank you your the only one who answered my question, but why did they decide to move to 5:4? i mean whats the point?

and to the rest i don't want to play my games at 640 I'm just wondering, i was being hypothetical I'm very inquisitive :P
