x1400 good for gaming ?

It's a decent card, but isn't high end. It will play games such as Counter Strike Source, Flatout 2, and NFSMW on medium settings.

I think this is about as good as you can get in a laptop on a bugdet.
eg. Not spending 5 grand on an alienware system.
Anyway I could handle AoE III on medium settings and DoW on High so depending on your games it should cope.

just looking for a college laptop yet able to play COD2 AOE3 nothing higher then that really but if i would want a new game how far would it be able to go ? budget is about 1,000-1200 less the better. and one other question would the geforce go 7300LE turbocache be a better card ?

The 7300LE is worse game performance wise.

You may want to look into the Dell Inspiron E1705, those can have a 7900GS in them.

The 7400 may be a slight better in some games, but there pretty equal in terms of specs.
