I have a friend that is willing to sell me his X1900XTX w/aftermarket cooling for $150 bucks. I already have a X1900XT so would it really be worth while?? I cant imagine I would see any difference do you?

well if you could sell yours for more that would be nice, but hes prolly lookin to buy a new dx10 card

That is an awesome deal dude, i'd take it. I have an X1900XTX, and used to have an X1900XT (before it burnt out).... I notice a pretty good difference, plus that deal is too good to pass up, you could probably sell your X1900XT for $150 or more.

Yeah thats what I was thinking of doing lol. you really did see a difference? I looked at tomshardware and I didnt see much of a diff. in the numbers.

In the 3DMark benchmarks, I noticed increases of 100+ points, which is fairly good. It depends on how good of a processor you got also, since the graphics card takes however much your CPU can handle.

The difference in games is really not that noticable, but as others said, you can easily sell your current card for over $150.

If you want, i'll buy that x1900XTX from you for $175 :)

You can buy my 1900XT for that if I buy it lol :D

Skidude, I have almost same setup as you have.
AMD X2 4200+
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium
2GB HyperX
Sony 24" Widescreen
ATI X1900XT, hope soon to be X1900XTX :)

Ya thats very close, some minor differences, but Im soon hoping to get an FX-57 when I have the money, they are only $300 now, which is a great deal, seeing as how the FX-60 is $800:eek:

Why not a x2 4600+?

Checking through the bechmarks thee fx-57 beats the x2 in some tests but the x2 beats the fx in some tests. But I would go with the x2, cheaper, and better multi-tasking performance. Also, you could overclock the x2 to fx speeds or at least x2 4800+ speeds.

Skidude, you do know that the FX-57 is a single core right? Thats like me saying I want to upgrade my Pentium D 930 3.0Ghz to a Pentium 4 3.4Ghz...

Exactly why I pointed that out to him. ^

Well I was gonna get the X2 4800+ but its out of stock, so FX-57 was my second option.... i'll just wait till the 4800 is back in stock.

Dude, even getting the X2 4800+ would be a bad idea, it's only 400Mhz faster and an extra 512K of L2 cache. Theres better ways to spend $200-$300.

:)

Well its sad to say but I missed out on the Vcard :( oh well no biggie my card still works great. On a bright note he has a nib Asus P5B Deluxe with 2 gig of ram for sale. He told me 200 bucks and its mine. Only thing is, I dont have a intel cpu I run AMD :(. Would it be worth me buying it anyway and buying a core 2 duo later cpu?
All I would need is the cpu to get it running.
