hello.

i currently have an x1950 xtx, 512mb gpu - i bought it practically on release day, about a year ago. i just ordered a new desktop from dell... the xps 420. i got it, more or less stock. 2.4ghz Core2Quad, i bumped the ram up to 4 gigs 800 mhz... i also bumped up the gpu to the ATI HD 2600 XT - 256mb. everything else though... stock configuration. blu ray player... monitor... video decoder... all the stuff that normally comes with it.

it's gonna be my media center pc. no heavy gaming, really... but if possible - i'd like to throw my 1950XTX into the new pc. my concern, really - is, will it be compatible with Blu-Ray? i looked over the retail packaging... it says vista capable... but... i dont know... does blu ray have a different codec i need to worry about?

i dont want to go through changing the card, installing drivers... all that - when it's not even physically compatible.

It should be fine. New graphics cards help to decode and play Blu-Ray. I don't know if yours does, but even if not you will be fine as long as you have a decent processor.
