x700 pro problem

I bought a ATI Radeon x700 Pro from best buy almost a month ago and i have less than 4 days to return it so help plz!!!!
Ok, heres the problem
I installed my x700 pro and it works fine once I get the computer started, but starting it is the problem. When I turn on the computer it locks up and all the fans are going full blast and it stays like that until i unplug it. If I leave it locked up for about 4 minutes most of the time when I unplug it and plug it back in it works. This is extreemly annoying to have a pc that takes that long to get to start up and I have had this problem since I bought the card. Whats wrong???????????:confused:
 
does it get into windows?
if you only have this problem when you are using your new card make sure that all of the old drivers are removed, install your new card and install the drivers for the card. see if that gets you anywhere.
 
It works fine when i get it started, goes to windows and everything. When it locks up i push the start button it just has a blank screen, nothing is displayed at all.
 
so sometimes it hangs at post?
sounds like a possible problem with the card, i would get hold of the people you bought it from and see what they say. i personally would be tempted to send it back
