x86?

When I install new files, they go to the (x86) folder directory.
Does it mean my 7 OP is x86bits and not x64?
Where's the difference?
What happens if I install a x64bits file?

64-bit programs are installed in the Program Files folder

32-bit programs are installed in the 'Program Files x86 folder.

There are just way more 32 bit programs then 64 bit ones.

You can check wether your Windows 7 is 32-bit or 64-bit by going to the Windows 7 system properties and under "System type" it will say is it 32-bit or 64-bit operating system.If it says it's 64-bit then it's normal you have "x86" program files folder created because there are a lot more 32-bit (x86) programs then the ones for the 64-bit...
So if you install 32-bit program,it will go to the x86 folder.If you install 64-bit program,it will go to the "Program Files" folder instead to the x86 one.
