yeah you will be able to fun it just fine. Don't run it off of a usb stick. Just install it like a normal program.

Thanks bro:i did experiment it with linuxmint14 and ubuntu 12.04lts but i had problems upon booting up i had to uninstall it,is there an iso of Xbmc that can be installed by itself? also i only want it to get livesoccer the same way i get Veetletv, Firstrawsports,ESPN3,Ilemi,and so on not intrested on other stuff.

And What about Plex?

If watching TV is the only reason you want it, look into MythTV. It is geared more towards TV than movies and music. I don't have much experience with Plex but from what I have seen it is better for media center systems that want to stream their local media to other laptops and desktops.

Here is what I would do:

Streaming to other devices - plex

Home system with TV focus - Windows Media Center or Media Portal (Windows Only) MythTV/XBMC (Linux)

You can stream with the other systems as well but it would involve setting up network drives getting permissions in order. Not a bit deal but if that was a focus I would stick to Plex. You could always use Plex as a backend streaming platform and have XBMC/MythTV for your daily needs. It just depends on how much work you want to put into it.

About your crashing problems, are you experiencing crashes before XBMC was installed? Or is it after an XBMC install you started having errors? I have not used the XBMC ISO so I can't really comment there. I have used it on Ubuntu 13.04 and Windows 7 with no problems.
