xbox 360 Advice

My xbox 360 broke.. something is wrong with the sound and audio(Video Flickers for a second and goes black und no sound?).. Its not the wire because I tried hdmi too... Microsoft said I missed my warrenty by one week and it will cost 60 euros to fix. My xbox is imported from the USA. Do you think I should just buy a new ps3 because its region free or do you think its worth it to keep importing games and get the 360 fixed... Id love to hear from someone that has both systems

ps. If I buy a European 360... can I import games from england or is every country have a different region code

I never import games...I am a huge fan of Japanese titles but sadly the costs are not worth it to me.

I would always suggest you buy local stuff to save money in the end though its up to you. Perhaps you could see if there is a local shop that could fix it.

I have both but I gotta say I like my PC more then either for gaming. I got the PS3 for Final Fantasy and the Xbox 360 I won at work during the official summer "work games" rather stupid tradition but its always a blast.
I would say they are close in graphical power and I can't tell a difference to be honest. There as many good xbox games as there are PS3 games if you ask me.
 
could be the ring of death. If you cant fix it give it to microsoft to look at it but i suggest you take apart the xbox by that i mean to disconnect all cables let it rest for about 2 weeks
 
360mods.net man is dedicated to this stuff, u may even beable to find some1 close to on that site to fix it for u or there are guides or mods to help u in ur attempt to fix it
 
wow thanks for all the great answers, mustard why should I unplug it for two weeks... could that possibly help? Collings -Can I use 360 mods.net even if im in europe? I like pcs more too.. it just seems that its dieing(pc gaming) - Twist
 
jdbennet, can I play all european games on an european console or only the country you buy it in (IE DLAND)
 
they are region locked, although not all games are.

I think all EU games will play on all EU consoles though so long as they are the right format e.g PAL/NTSC/SECAM

but im not sure
 
Why not just get it replaced by Microsoft. I've had to 2 Xbox's die and they replaced them both no questions asked. The whole process takes about 3 weeks, if it's under warranty just do that.
 
i hate xbox now. i had a 360 missed my warranty by 3 days. i had the 3 ring of death crap. actually i bought my PS3 and i am in love with it. in my own opinion, you cant go wrong with the ps3 i have had no problems with it so far and i have had it for a year and a half now. its kinda loud but so is the xbox. other than that its great. also if you have a sony tv it looks freaking amazing. if you pick up a ps3 then add me BigRon1230
 
yeah I agree... Microsoft wont fix it for free... that 3 year warrenty only convers certain hardware... The ps3 seemed horrible when it first came out but now I dont know
