XBOX 360 committed suicide..

Went to play some CODMW2 yesterday after some apt. hunting and my 360 would power up but the video it displayed was all garbled and looked like a really bad connection. So I unplugged it and cleaned checked out all the cables. I was using HDMI at the time. It did no good though cleaning it all up though.
Now, it won't display any image or sound at all. I tried component, a/v, and hdmi connections with two different sets of cables and two different HDTV's.

I figured I'd try the towel trick, but my xbox is now auto-turning off after 5 mins no matter how cool it is, so that trick won't work even by the slightest chance.

So, any idea what's up and how to remedy it?

Yes...buy these games on your nice PC and stop buying crappy consoles till quality control is there.

Though on topic...if you have warranty I would suggest you start the ball on it as it sounds like a lot of issues. I have only seen fixes for RROD and a few other things but never to your problem.

agree with twist. PC is, and always will be the way forward :P

and agree with twist, you will probably need to contact Microsoft about this

opening it voids the warrenty i thought
He never said he opened it though he just said he cleaned it and checked the connections on his 360.

The 360 has to high of a death rate to EVER void the warranty on...I don't think I have seen a 360 make it 2 years without a warranty.

yes it is, I think you are getting your fixes mixed up or you misunderstood how to do it jasonwow :P

Thank you....sad part is I know more to much about the 360 and I don't even own or even played one and I know most the issues :P Though I did stay at a Holiday Inn last year.

The closest I will get to a 360 is when I buy a cheap busted one in 4-5 years time that I can take the BIOS from and enjoy my PC version.

I've been meaning to replace the stock fans with a better LED set, but it's been running cool and fine without it. I mean people can bitch all they want, but like it or not, it looks like consoles will be getting more and more popular, as if they haven't enough already. Being a LAN host, you used to get a nice PC sized crowd, but now that's a bit lower, and consoles are showing up more and more.

Is it a pro? Does it have an hdmi port on the rear or do you have to buy a special 360 hdmi cable? The red ring of death and towel thing only applies to the old one. The pros have a completely different motherboard and cpu and are reliable.

Don't you mean a Holiday Inn Express? Or did your stay only make you marginally smarter... :P
