Xbox 360 RLOD Warranty

How does it work?
If i buy a used console and then get the RLOD, can i still use the warranty?
What do they check?

i dont know. but i know the cooling fans void your warinty. (b/c it is not made by microsoft )

to my understanding...the warranty is pretty much what it sounds like, a warranty covering the 3 red lights (i think its general hardware failure) on the 360. It wont however, cover the right of death (4 red lights, usually gpu related failure).

If you buy a console now, you should be covered for the next 3 years

Well wait my 360 crashed in April of this year ( 3 lights) this was before warranty came out once stupid microsoft came to the conclusion there stuff was faulty but anyway it died so i am wondering do i qualify for warranty. Just for a good laugh would you believe the 3 rings came on rite after my year warranty exactly 2 days after warranty.

@everyone else: You are misunderstanding my question. I want to buy a used xbox 360. Do I still get the warranty? If i need to use the warranty, what do they check for? A reciept? Or can you just mail it in and they'll fix it.
