Xbox 360 VGA Cables

Yesterday, at my LAN, someone brought their 360, computer monitor, and these VGA cables. I've seen them before, but never put a lot of thought into purchasing them.

This is what I am talking about.

So, I would connect the VGA to my monitor, then where would I plug in the two component cables? The guy brought speakers, and attached them to a converter and did it like that. Are there other ways?

My monitor has a DVI and a VGA port, would I get better quality if I add a DVI adapter?

Anyways, thanks.

Yea I have those. I hook my 360 up to my TV that way since my 360 doesn't have HDMI and the Component looks like shit. You would plug the two RCA cables for audio into your monitor as well if it has RCA, but if it has the 1/8", you would just use the included adapter. The part of your plug that goes into the 360 also has an optical output on it so you can hook it up to your surround sound receiver. And, no you wouldn't get any better picture quality by using a VGA to DVI adapter because it is still a VGA signal.

I have that same connector from my 360 to my LCD comp monitor. My monitor has DVI but I couldn't find an adapter from 360 to LCD through DVI.

Well, I used my MacBook as a monitor, using an EyeTV TV tuner, and component cables. Online was pretty laggy, but I'll see if that will work, if not, would attaching the 360 VGA cables to my MacBook via this wire,

it connects to a mini DVI port on my Mac, and goes to a VGA connection.

Then just find some headphone adapters or something for the two component cables.

What do you think?
