Xbox 360 wireless controller on pc

I know the wireless 360 controllers are compatable with the pc using the receiver but I was wandering if the receiver is the same one that comes packaged with the microsoft wireless desktop. I want to get the wireless guitar hero controller but wanted to know if i needed to buy the game receiver or not. Also, will it support two controllers connected to it wirelessly?
 
*bump* Dont mean to be impatient, but I was going to bid on a wireless guitar on ebay and wanted to make sure I didnt need an extra adapter.
 
Im wandering if having both receivers would interfere with one another. It looks like they run on the same 2.4ghz frequency. For the life of me I cant find anywhere that says whether or not you can use the basic microsoft receiver with the wireless xbox controllers or not. I thought a while back I read somewhere that you could though.
 
FYI, the wireless 360 guitar works with the pc using any microsoft wireless receiver. Including the kind that comes with a wireless desktop. So no need to buy the game receiver if you already have a wireless desktop. Just wanted to give everyone the update!

Just so you know the X-Plorer USB Guitar is IMO, better than the wireless Les Paul and I've had/have both. The buttons are a lot better.
 
Oh really may be but i am using wi-fi controlers formy p.c and i baught them from e.bay....and they are more rocking thena 360 controller...

I have no idea what that was an attempt to say...

Anyway, I may have spoke to soon. Microsoft said the optical desktop receiver 3.0A that I have would work but I dont know how to make them sync together.
 
Is there a sync button on the reciever? If so, just press it and press the sync button at the bottom of the guitar and they should sync up.
