I recently started experiencing problems with my original xbox. I modified it a while back to use it as a media center and it's worked quite well for a long time. Recently (2 or 3 months) ago the replacement power cord (with the GFI thingy) went out so I started using the original power cord again until I could get around to buying a new one. About a week ago I started experiencing a really odd problem. The power button on the xbox no longer works to turn it on or off. The xbox will come on if you turn it on by pressing the eject button, it boots up and works just fine for about 10 minutes or so then shuts off again. Typically after it shuts off the first time it won't stay on as long if you try to turn it back on. Another odd bit, if you turn it on then try to shut it down through media center using the shutdown command it will shut down then immediately turn back on. I'm thinking this might be an issue with the power supply in the unit. It shouldn't have experienced any power surges though since it's plugged into an APC surge protector (as far as i know those tend to be pretty good). If you have any ideas or have experienced something similar please share. Thanks
