Xbox VGA to DVI to HDMI

Hey everyone!
I've got a problem I need some help with. So I have a HP monitor with a VGA output and want to connect my xbox to it. I have to VGA cord plugged into a VGA to DVI adapter and then the adapter is plugged into a DVI to HDMI adapter. All of this is hooked up and I'm getting no picture on the monitor screen. What am I doing wrong? Don't worry about audio, I have that monster tamed.
 
My GUESS is that theres too many things the video has to go through. IF you have a DVI Port, then plg the other cord to that. So it goes DVI-HDMI. It should work like that. Sorry if this was no help :/
