Back in the day i was thinking about changing my xbox into a computer.
I saw some video on it, and some sites dedicated to it.
Anyone know if its a good idea and/or safe and sound?

Thanks. haha. i didn't think about that. but then again isn't it illegal to even open the thing?

About modding for opening?
i think that opening it Voids the warranty, and gets you a sweet "micro soft now hates your guts forever for opening your 360" card in the mail. hahah

I think that opening and changing the appearance is legal, just voids the warranty.
but changing the actual hardware and all that jazz to make it into a completely new machine is illegal.

its not the changing, its the changing in order to circumvent copy protection and region lock that is

the rest may be breach of the EULA though

Well then back to my original question. I guess this whole messing with the xbox thing is a bad idea. Really bad. hahah
i'll just leave it on my desk and play the occasional Gears of war. Leaving my modding dreams to slowly fade away. haha
Do you remember when Dreamcast came out and it had that Web Browser software?
i wonder why xbox couldn't put a web browser on their machine. I think the ps3 has one, right?

Thats the main reason i wanted to make my xbox into a computer, for the web surfing capabilities.
All in all, the xbox 360 is a good piece of hardware for the price.
I want to get myself a ps3 next. The capabilities seem much more limitless on the ps3 than on the 360.. not to mention free online play

The Wii can browse the web. And the Free PS3 Online Play, isn't going to be great.. Expect laggy games and little kids, since they wont have to pay $60 a year for an Online Subscription.

I like the Xbox cause of the games, yes, most games that are on the 360 are also on the PS3, but with the Xbox, you get Halo, that was the selling point for me. I bought an Xbox Original in like 2005 or something, for Halo 2, then upgraded to the 360 in 2006 for Halo 3 and other games.

Majority of my LANs have Xbox 360 Gamers, I advertise them as Console LANs and we haven't seen a PS3 show up.

Personal preference, really.

yeah i baught an xbox original last year as you could get 4 games for like £10 lol now i have like 40 games
