xeon? and clock speed question

my current cpu is pentium 4 550 and i didnt oc it and its at 3.4ghz is that good will be c2d e6300 be faster non oc? and when i do will it be higher,like diffrent cpu's diffrent clock speeds


and whats intel xeon? dells new computers have em

The E6600, while only clocked at 2.4GHz - is an extremely powerful 4MB Cache processor, and yes - it should match / beat that Pentium!

Intel Xeon is another type of Intel processor - usually found in high-end servers

The E6300 utilizes DDR2 memory.. so clock speeds for the RAM are faster - I'd still rather get the E6300 than the Pentium.

You could o/c it - they are renoun for their o/c abilities.
