i wanted to upgrade my video card to get better gaming and TV(on comp) graphics
right now i have
256MB ATI Hyper Memory PCI-Express X16 (DVI/VGA/TV out) Radeon X600 SE

and wanted to upgrade to
XFX GeForce 6600LE / 256MB DDR / PCI Express / SLI / DVI / VGA / TV-Out / Video Card($111 CAD)

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/category/category_slc.asp?CatId=1558&

is the geforceLE better than what i have right now? if it is how better is it gona be i want it for games such as EVE and also watching TV on comp. i think the above card is SLI which means it uses power of 2 gforce 6600... but is the mark LE good?

appreciate ur feedback!
thanks

I thought LE stood for Lite Edition. Either way its not as good as the 6600GT standard

Here's my go:

IS IT WORTH IT? - NO!
SLI MEANS TWICE THE POWER - NO! (it means you can use two of the cards in SLI configuration)

The 6600GT will naturally work better than the 6600LE.

LE stands for "low end"
6600LE is worse than the normal 6600, so it is better to go with 128MB 6600GT it is about the same price but alot better

the differences arent that great anyway, i would save up some more money and get an x1600XT.

the difference between what 6600GT and 6600 LE?
6600GT is 8 pipes and it is 500/1000 while 6600LE is just 4 pipes and 300/550

so there is a big difference between them

Sorry i should have clarified, i meant between a x600SE and a 6600LE.

TY for the feedback
so the LE edition isnt that good.. thing is i was looking for a price of about 100$ CAD
Also the reason for this upgrade is the tv qualty on my comp is good but not great although i have a good flat panal.. is the video card to blame for this?

Also how about this card?

XFX Geforce 6600 / 512MB DDR2 / PCI Express / SLI / Dual DVI / TV Out / Video Card (180$ CAD)

or this

XFX GeForce 7300 GS TurboCache / 256MB / Supporting 512MB TurboCache / DDR2 / PCI Express / DVI / VGA / TV Out / Video Card (110$ CAD looks much cheaper)

bad thing is the spec description dosnt show how many pipes(assume more is better) they have

TV Quality would be the TV card, not video card. Or do you mean when your watching DVD's?

Those cards arent very poor, as i said before i think you should save up some more money and spend ~$160USD on a x1600XT 256MB.

That 6600 is just wasted money. 512MB on a card like that is just a marketing gimmick, it simply can't be used to it's full potential. You can get a 6600GT 128MB card, which will be a better performer, at a cheaper price.

As for the 7300, it's designed as a budget card, and I wouldn't recommend it either.

As for the earlier discussion, LE = "Lite Edition", although the abbreviation "Lame Edition" seems to have become somewhat popular.

yea 512MB is a waste of money, because 6600 can't take the advantage of this amotut of memory. 128MB 6600GT is better and much cheaper.

if u want also u can get 256MB 6800GS, it is around 200$ but it is much better than 6600GT
