Xp 2900+?

I have a machine without a motherboard and processor, it's a mircATX form. I want to get something cheap that can hold me over until i have enough money to get something really nice. I was thinking abou getting an AMD processor but i don't know much anything about thier types. So i was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is any good and/or it's intel equivalent:

(i have a 256MB stick of DDR PC2100 @ 266mhz, that'll work with that mobo right?)
i'm looking for somthing really close to $100 so if you have any better ideas let me know them too
 
1. You mean XP2800?
2. Ok so no you dont mean XP2800 ... ok looking at the specifications, thats a "tactical typo", the chip is a XP2800
As for the price, its a damn nice price for the combination but just dont expect stellar performance from it :)

WAY better than a celeron. p4 2.4-2.6 is approximately comparable to this proc

Um duh..... unless you have a lot of USB devices. But then you could buy a hub, or an add-on card....or 2 if you really needed it
