XP ate my hd, now what

this hardrive is completely shot. i have tried fixing, it does work. i got win98 on it but it is slow and hangs then dies completely. it makes lots of clucking and grinding noices. SO what should i do with it? i was thinking taking every thing out of it and puting some fans in it or some thing. maybe lights.
 
Um...I don't think anyone's done this because to be honest, it's a stupid idea. You want to take everything out of a broken hard drive, then put lights on it. You realize that's just going to be a box with lights?

Yeah, this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. You're taking everything out of the hard drive? Is it an external hard drive because I don't ever recall anyone taking anything out of a hard drive. It just isn't worth the hassle.

What it sounds like you're trying to say is that you're going to take the hard drive out of the case, and put in some fans and lights... is that what you're trying to say? I think we're all having a hard time understanding what your point is here. If that's what you're trying to say, that won't help out your hard drive issue. Are you sure it's your hard drive making the sound? It could be some wires hitting a fan when you close your case... although since you're running Win98 it could be a bad HD. I'd just replace it and take my loss.
