XP Boot Problems

Having problems booting Windows screen hangs and machine does nothing. I can boot up in safe mode OK. I did download AGV Anti-Virus this morning and am not able to boot up since. Have gone to system restore several times with no luck. Need some advice. Thanks.
 
If the only thing new that you've done is install AVG, and you can get into safe mode, try uninstalling AVG from safe mode and see if that fixes the problem.
 
The program doesn't show on the list if programs in the "add or remove" when I populate the list. I have restored the computer to the point before the installation so perhaps it will not apprear on the list.
 
Try booting with your Windows CD, enter the Recovery Console and run the following commands:

FIXMBR
FIXBOOT
BOOTCFG /REBUILD

then reboot. See if that fixes the issue.
