XP CD Key

I have a Dell CD for a Dell Computer of xp pro. I have a dell computer, my system can run XP. I dont have the key though, how do I get it? It is legal, it is a normal dell os recovery disk. I dont have the COA, but I need the key. This computer I bought for 20 bucks at a flea market. It came with 98se and a recovery disk. So i got a dell xp recovery disk and I need the key. I have a key recovery program, but it does not seem to work without the software that I want the key for installed.
 
If the XP disk was bought along with the used Dell system you would have to attain the prouct key from that source and see that the right steps for transfer of ownership are taken. Otherwise you would have to contact Dell. The other option is to buy a new full version of Pro. You can buy OEM releases of XP Pro for as low as $80 when browsing the shopping sites to see the price comparisons at different vendors.
