XP/ COmp problem

I havean ABS comp, XP, now everytimes I start up it says it has to check files and it takes forever and says the files are unreadable. The comp is starting to get slower and freeze more. I defraged and clean disk, 78% free space now. Any ideas? Appreciate greatly

its probably running the checkdisk utility. You might have to just reinstall windows bc it cant read the windows files.
