Hi, I bought my HP computer refurbished from cyber warehouse and it never came with any CD's. I bought it like 6 months ago and I've been keeping it alive for a while without reinstalling it. Now... I want to reinstall it. It is really slow, and I don't feel like cleaning it up or anything. But the problem is, like I said, it never came with any Cd's. No driver CD's, no XP cd's, nothing. The System Restore feature doesn't work anymore for some reason. The store has like a 1 month gaurantee or something... but its obviously been more than 1 month. I think the good news is that when I got the comp, I paid extra for the 3 year warentee (damn I suck as spelling). So... how can I get a XP cd?
Why the hell didn't my comp come with one?

I really really don't want to pay for a $200 for a new XP cd (or I won't be able to get a new graphics card for a long time).

Because HP (like all OEMs)
1. Wants you to pay for the premium tech support/warranty
2. Wants you to buy a new machine when this one fuks up

the answer

hey hp doesnt come with restore cds cause there is a partition on the harddrive for the restore....F10 on the boot...if that doesnt work u can order one off the hp site for like 20 bucks...u just need the model number and serial number

just 1 thing b4 i start though: who the hell buy a coputer with 1 month warranty???

Whenever I buy a computer from Dell, IBM, HP, Alienware, etc.. I always spend the least amount of money as possible on a warranty. Usually the least expensive option is a year, which is more than enough for me. For people who do not want to go through any hassles if they have problems, get a longer warranty but for me, about 3 months is enough. I do agree a month is pretty cheesy.. if something is going to go wrong its probably within a month (at least the problems a limited warranty will cover). However I have had a fan go out after about 6 months and I enjoyed not having to spend a dime on a new one.... But, I do agree, a 1 month warranty is bogus and a disaster waiting to happen.

I don't think you guyes read my post carefully, or I couldn't explain it good. Now that I read the info on the site again, the store will give me a free 2 month warrenty or something like that. But I spent extra on the 3 year warrenty.

Your best bet is to contact cyber warehouse and make sure you have all of your warranty papers.
