I encrypted an entire folder full of files a while back using whatever encryption windows xp provides (right click, properties, advanced,...). I did this on my 40 GB hdd which was master. When I received my new hard drive, I set it as master, installed windows and copied all of my files from my 40GB hdd to my new master hdd. Now when I try to open the encrypted files on my new hard drive, they wont open and I get an error. I figure it's because they were not encrypted on that drive (at that location).
Also, I have sense formatted my 40GB hdd (which is slave now) and coppied the files there as backup. Have I lost those files forever or is there something I can do to get them to decrypt for my viewing. If you're not sure, does anyone know what kind of encryption windows uses so that I can look into it?
-Thanks
