Hi,

I've tried to upgrade my xp home to xp pro but info popsup that:
"Windows XP Setup does not support upgrading from Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition to Microsoft Windows XP Professional."

My XP Pro is OEM version. Maybe that's got something to do with that?
Or maybe you can only upgrade from "Upgrade" not from "Full" version?
 
Does the XP Pro CD have SP2 built in? If not, does your existing XP Home have SP2 installed? Windows sees Home w/ SP2 as a newer version then Pro w/SP1 or earlier.
 
why do you need pro? There are only a few differences like remote desktop, and support for connecting to a domain, do you need all of that?
 
You see MS did something retarded and does not allow you to upgrade from XP home to XP Pro, but if you have the full OEM version (not upgrade) you should be able to do an overlay install or what would be best is a clean install.
