Can someone tell me the differances in the Pro and Home versions of XP, do I want to insall the pro version, we have it at work and can install on several computers so would be a legal upgrade.
For most people there is no difference, Pro has more networking options and IIS comes with it. There's a bit more to it than that but that's the simplified version.
... The Home version is limited to "simple file sharing" whereas the Pro version allows you complete access to User and Group permissions (basically what Cromewell said )...
As cromewell said it has more networking features like ISS which is short for internet information services which is basically for hosting web pages and what not. And remote destop protocol which allows you to login using RDP Client. My advice is if your not into networking and stuff like that or you don't plan to use the remote desktop protocol don't switch if thats what you plan on doing.
