XP Install Issues

Hey....i guess ill start off with the story....for a while i was just putting my computer on stand by and not shutting it down all the way(prob for 2 weeks). Then one night i decided to shut it down all the way, and then after that it wouldnt want to start up. So i figured i might as well just wipe the whole thing that start over fresh since it seemed like the system could use it. So as i was reinstalling windows, it rebooted to get to the second part of the install and before i could reach it a stop error screen popped up and i received the blue screen of death...ha.....well anyways i cant seem to get past it....

Asus M2N-e motherboard
3 gigs of ddr2 800
AMD athlon x2 dual core 4800 @ 2.82GHZ
Radeon 3850
200 gig WD
40 gig maxtor

Did you format the entire drive before doing the new Install? This may seem like weak advice, but try the Install again and see if it goes - it may have just been a fluke.
