xp install on seperate hdd?

Hello forum,
last time I was on here, was 3 years ago :) . Evidently I've had no computer issues.
The latest battle I have,is after doing a fresh XP install on a 200GB separate hdd on a hp desktop via cable into a Netgear VMDG280 modem and then ethernet into the desktop, using the NetXtreme Gigabit method,I have no internet connection.
Already installed in the tower,is a 40GB hdd,and I'm connected to the internet with no problems. I have searched google for the drivers, and I have,I think found the drivers, and put them onto a memory card and booted up the 200GB disk, and I have unzipped them etc. I'd be grateful if someone can identify what I have missed out.
Thanks in advance
Paul

Check device manager for any entries still needing a driver. If its an HP computer then Hp will have all the drivers providing its was shipped with XP.

Thanks John for putting me right. I was at work when I started the topic,so I couldn't remember the model desktop. It's a HP d330 uT,which I had bought second hand. From memory,I don't recall a HP disc being with the tower. I have looked up on HP website for the drivers and put them onto an sd card as I don't have on hand blank 48x cd-r discs for the samsung SC-148C.
I've not tried it,as I'm on the net on the 40GB tower hdd. I'll give it ago in a bit

thanks again
