XP item on Vista

I have Vista.

I just realized that I bought a printer, and it works on all kinds of operating systems, but only up to XP. It doesn't work on Vista or Windows 7.

I know that there's a way to trick the thing into thinking that the operating system is XP, because I did it once before, with the video game Myst V: End of Ages.

Can someone remind me of how to do that?

You might be thinking of running programs in compatibility mode. Printers are different, if there is no driver for vista/7 then you're probably SOL.

Are you using a 32bit or 64bit installation of vista? what brand and model is your printer?

yea if there is no win vista driver for the printer than it wont work .. what is the printer model?
