I reinstalled XP yesterday and it has been working fine all yesterday and this morning but I just got back from running errands and the computer was asleep. I moved the mouse and it turned back on with a password prompt. Problem is, I did not setup any passwords on the computer since reinstalling xp and have already tried every password I have ever used. My password for the bios still works but just cant get into windows. What the heck am I supposed to do now? Thanks.

Boot to safe mode, log onto the administator account, go into user accounts and delete the password for that account.

Hello Cams,

Here's the best thing that you can do regarding that problem. Restart your PC and try to boot in SAFE MODE. All you need to do is to press F8 one at time while your Windows XP is loading. You will be prompted to the option screen. Choose SAFE MODE. If you will be asked for a username at the main screen, just type in: Administrator and press Enter. No need t supply any password. Then go to Control Panel and remove or edit the password for your log in. The next time that you will logging in to Windows XP Normal Mode, you will not be prompted for any password. That is if you did not place any password when you configure it on SAFE MODE.

Thanks,
