Hi, i know im new to this forum and i shouldnt be asking for help on my first post, but i have some serious problems and i really need someones help.

It all started with my xp pro going slower then usual when booting ( the bar going from left to right) sometimes it could take 5 min for it do complete it, and ive got an ok computer. Basically the bar just stops after a while and then crashes, ive tried reinstalling but that doesnt work either, I would like to know if anyone knows what part i need to buy to get it to work, im wondering if its the motherboard thats ****ed up.

additional info - it usually crashed when playing games, such as WOW or HF2.
When i try to reinstall xp by selecting boot priority > cd rom it starts installing but then goes all black with a little underline thats flashing, like this
http://web.telia.com/~u31115556/desc/swegenskaper/swegenskaper_dos.gif
but with no text just underline.

If you want any additional info just ask.

Thousand thanks in advance, shami

ps. apologies for spelling .ds.

Did you get a BSOD?

When you next boot Windows, does it ask for boot options? If so, try booting in safe mode. If you're able to boot in safe mode, tell us what driver it hangs on before it fails (it is commonly mup.sys.)

I'm guessing it would be your hard drive. Do you have a spare ones you can use?

Also, does it do this every time or just now and then? If it only does it now and again, then reinstall windows and download *new* copies of all your drivers. You may be installing a corrupt copy.
