Trying to finish up a build. Have a seagate 120 gb hard drive unformatted and am trying to install windows xp pro full. The problem is xp start up starts to install all the drivers and such and then I get The file ultra.sys could not be found. Press any key to continue.

After hitting any key to restart. I get DISK BOOT FAILUR. INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. Doing this just keeps sending me into the disk failue loop. Any ideas or suggestions?

if it's brand new you can get a new disk where you bought it. or you can just copy a cd from a friend or something as long as you use your own key it isnt illegal

Kicking myself.... Well, found the problem it was a total no brainer. I had another cd/dvd drive hooked up. As soon as I disconnected the dvd the disk loaded and formatted my hard drive. As well as loaded fully.

Why oh why must I be so damn stubborn and just have worked backwards from the start. Feeling very red faced about now. Thanks all for your input and the info on authenticating my windows cd.
