XP Pro2003 Registry issues

Hey guys!

So, This last week all my games stopped working, so I tested my card on my friends computer...it works fine...then I did a deep scan with norton and ad-aware..norton nothing adawar found several trojans in my registry so, I am asuming that this issue is due to corupt registry problems...also every time I try to start up a game this message pops up: (The application or DLL C\WINDOWS\system32|d3d8thk.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against you installation diskette.) So my question is...is there a way to reinstall system32 file with out starting over, or would it be best for me to reinstall my whole system? Note: all the other programs run perfectly fine.

That appears to be a directx DLL. I'd try to reinstall directx first. If that won't work, download the file from the internet(a quick google search finds it quite easilly) then boot to safe mode and move it to the original location.

Is there anyway to unistall direct x so that I can reinstall it totally?
