i am replacing my mobo tomorrow and i need to know if i can do a windows repair or i have to reinstall windows also because i am replacing my mobo will i have to buy another copy of windows xp i have a oem version

Sometimes the OEM version works with multiple computers... How much of a replacement are you doing? I replaced my motherboard with one that had the same chipset(well, nForce to nForce Ultra) and it worked just fine.

im replacing a mobo i bought 3 weeks ago along with my copy of windows it havs a via chipset and the mobo i am replacing it with also has a via chipset
i am mainly worried that microsoft will tell me to buy a new copy of windows because i am replacing my mobo

your oem version is likely tied to the id on the mobo. nobody can tell you for sure if it will work or not so just try it. if it doesn't, you'll be buying a new version of xp... ouch.

Just because it's the same brand chipset means nothing. If it's basically the same model, then you might not even have to install

No It Isnt The Old One Is Asus And The New One Is Abit Someone Told Me I Didnt Need To Reinstall Windows Just Do A Repair Install

Why Are You Capitalising All The Words? It is annoying, to say the least.

My good friend Nilpo has a solution here that you might want to look at.
