Was just wondering where XP stores the restore files. Is there a way you can delete restore files one at a time. i.e. delete some and keep others?

Thanks for you input and help in advance,

I think system restore is bad. When your computer is attacked by virus, system restore will be disable by virus. So turn it off for faster computer. If your wanna to backup your system, Norton Ghost is the best one you should think first

System Restore files are stored in the Systen Volume Information folder. It is a hidden folder on the root of C drive. You will have to enable viewing of hidden files and folders.

To gain access to this folder go to this site and read about it. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;309531
You should be able to delete whatever restore points you want.

You can also run Disk Cleanup and click on the More Options button. There is an option there to destroy all but the most recent restore point.
