XP Startup question?!

Each time i turn my PC on, I get a black screen asking me to choose which of these to start:

--- Windows XP Home Edition
--- Microsoft Windows Recovery Console

How can I make it skip this, so that it goes straight to loading windows?

login and navigate to your C drive, go to tools / folder options / view, select "show hidden files" and uncheck "hide protected OS files", click ok to save changes. Now on the root of your C drive you will see the boot.ini file. Open boot.ini with notepad being very careful not to make this the default selection. Now in the boot.ini file look for the line that has "Recovery Console" in it and delete the entire line. Save the changes and reboot. It will now boot directly to XP. Please be very careful editing your boot.ini file as you can cause your system to not boot up if you delete the wrong line.

not that that will help much if it does go wrong, if you cant boot then you cant get into windows t replace it can you....??
