I am using XP on my Dell Laptop (1520 Inspiron, 2.2 GHz Intel Dual-Core processor, 3 GB RAM, Nvidia 8600 GT, 225 GB Samsung HDD, Logitech Laser mouse)
I am wondering how difficult it will be for me to learn Win 7 after being on XP for so long. I am very proficient with XP and I love it, but it has its shortcomings. I plan to change over to 7 a year after its released.
My questions are:
How difficult do you guys think it will be to learn all the ins-and-outs of another operating system, again?
Can I just change over to 7 without scrubbing (reformatting) my HDD in the process?
If anyone here is already using a RC of 7, can you tell me:
What you think of the platform in general?
Is it fairly easy to use?
How much memory can I expect it to eat up?
Will my older applications still run, such as GTA Vice City or Simcity 2000? (Yeah i like my older games, what can I say.)
Can I import my files from XP to 7 when I change over?
Can the appearance be reverted to previous versions of Windows?
I would appreciate the input. I don't want to be blind sighted with some horrible problem when I install 7.
I am excited bout 7, it seems like it may be as good, or even better than XP has been.
