XP transfer to External Hard Drive

My computer was supplied with XP preinstalled and no Disk was provided. How do I transfer the existing XP O.S. on to a new External hard drive?

why you want to do so ? you want to transfer the OS or the docs ?

considering only if your external is bigger than the one in your pc, you can do a clone or image of your main hard drive on your external.
Either way an XP disk is a must for future use.

Use Acronis True Image.
Install it, create a boot CD, boot the PC to that CD, create an image of your C: drive, and have Acronis store the image on the external.
The external needs to be the same size or bigger than your C: drive.
No XP CD needed.

Thanks for your reply. I shall look at Acronis. All I want is to have XP on the second external drive so I could use as a portable, transferable drive, and also as a backup in case my computer ever goes on the blink.
