XP updates

This is good considering that most major companies still run XP, I read about a lot going to Windows 7 which I don't understand considering Windows 8 is around the corner.
I thought it was funny me and my wife was in a dollar tree the other day and I was watching the lady turn on the computer built into the register and she was running Windows 98. God I have not seen one of those boot up screens in forever.

Updates are over rated, I don't install them, got a couple computers probably 2003 vintage with the only update SP1 installed, and they run great.
A while back I finally installed SP3 on my web surfer, only because a piece of other software required it. That PC doesn't have any other Critical updates and has never been hit by Malware, because of my safe Computer habits.
