Hello, So I have a dell xps 410, and It crashed randomly one day. it restarted but it was blacked out. my quikest assumption was that the graphics card overheated. I imediatly opened up the computer and blew away any dust. the card was pretty hot, I don't know if it was normal.
So I put in an old PCI nVidia 5500fx card. It worked, and then I noticed that windows was not detecting my sound device(built in the motherboard).
Here is my pc Configuration:
-windows vista home premium - 32bit
-72,000 rpm - 320GB
-nVidia geforce 8600 GTS
I think thats all the info that would be useful, but now Im thinking it is the motherboard that is the issue. could be the power supply, or maybe even the graphics also. What should I do to know for sure?
my dell warranty expired.
