I have just use the File & Settings transfer wizard from my newish computer to my older machine, to update the older machine which I'm now only using for the Internet (so keeping my newer machine more secure).
I transfered using only the "settings" option, but I do not know which settings have been transferred.
Does anyone know where I can find a list of what settings are transferred by default?

As extra info: I am aware that my Internet connection settings, OE folders and desktop colour scheme have been transferred, but I don't know about Favourites and Outlook Express address book.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Noodles

The MS information on just what in particular gets transferred is scetchy at best as seen at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/expert/crawford_november12.mspx and another page at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/getstarted/bott_fstw.mspx

Those explian the items you check off from a list are what see the backup and eventual transfer. One of the screenshots at the second shows what the list looks like.

The first thing to know is that the need to see the usual programs you run installed first on the older system before running the transfer wizard there is advised. As far as OE settings and items like the address book you may have to see those done over. For "cookies", favorites, links you can manually copy your favorites and links folder right out of the Favorites folder seen under "C:\DocumentsandSettings>user name>Favorites" onto removable media but will have to double click to open up each one and resave them again on the second machine once you are online there.
