Yahoo- did I screw up my email?

I am not sue this is the right spot to ask my question. Last nite, I changed a couple things on my profile on the 'Yahoo Ask' site. Now, I cannot log onto my Yahoo email. When I changed things on the one site- did it change my user id/password for Yahoo email? I have tried all sorts of ways to log onto Y/email- but it keeps telling me I am wrong. It tells me over and over that the numbers/letters that you copy to prove you are not a computer are wrong! I have checked very carefully, and I have them copied correctly- this has happened 6-7 times. I am in a viscious circle- I can't get on my Y/email, and everything I am trying to get my password/id sent to me is not working. I have forgotten a password/id before, and it is no problem to get it sent to you- you just fill out a couple question/answers, and your password is sent to you, but if I can't log onto my Yahoo email- how do I get on Y/email to get my password? I am confused- with my computer breaking, I can't remember how to do anything!! I also posted part of my problem on the 'Operating Systems' part. Thanks- very very frustrated/confused!

For a particular username on yahoo there is only one password regardless of which yahoo service u use .. so if ur username was : [email protected] and password was : stuvw then this would remain the same for all yahoo services like email , games , finance etc. So yes if u logged in with ur username in some service n changed ur password there, then ur email password has also definitely changed!
But as u r mentioning that the problem is not with the username/password but with the code that u have to put in to verify u r not a bot. I guess try logging in to yahoo messenger n then access ur email from there. That way u will know whether the problem is with ur username/pass combination or the bot verification. Hope this helps..

They'll ask you to give some info that only you'd know from when you signed up for the account. You can usually get a new password on the spot if you give the answer to your secret question correctly.

"You can get a new password, a Yahoo! ID reminder, or both. Visit the Sign-in Problems page and supply some basic verification information, such as your birthday and the ZIP or postal code you provided when you registered.

Make sure to provide the same information you gave during registration or when you last updated your account. Without the correct verification information, you will not be able to obtain a new password."
