i am trying to run the BF2 demo, to test out the game before wasting any money on it. and the whenever i start to load up the game, it goes to a black screen, changes resolutions 3 times, then goes to a solid blue screen (not the BSOD), then restarts my comp. I have a amd 2600+, gigabyte radeon 9550 256mb, 512 mb DDR 400, latest drivers, what would u suggest could be causing this problem? everything else runs fine.

what other games do you run it could be your graphics card might want to update to a better one

isn't is BattleField 2 or something  I should really get up-to-date with all these new PC games... :P

ya, BF2 is battlefield 2, im guessing you have an Athlon XP or Sempron, now when you have that with only a 9550, its not going to run well, try putting the games on a low resolution and low quality, that might help you. ANd also, what the temp of ur cpu and gpu?

plz re-read my initial post, THE GAME WONT EVEN LOAD. I understand a 9550 will not run BF2 at high settings or anything close to that, but the game will not even load the splash screen or anything. The minimum requirement is a radeon 8500. i more than meet that standard. The game should atleast load up. I have been playing far cry and other sorts of those games on med to high settings with no problem

Looking at your specs it looks like your computer should run it fine. The only things that I can think of would be to make sure your directX drivers are up to date and that your PSU isn't being overloaded. It could quite possibly be that when you start up BF2 the PSU is being overloaded. Just a thought. :)

it can handle intesnt 3d modeling and farcry maxed out, i dont think its that, thx for the suggestion though. O and i even tried OCing the amd and the radeon, still not working.

well.. what psu do you have? because BF2 is a lot more processor intensive as farcry is.. so logically it would drain more power from the psu.

what amperage do you have on the +12V rail?
