I built the rig in my signature and downloaded dvd cloner and proceeded to clone a dvd.I set my D:(lite-on dvd burner) as the source and my E: (samsung lightscribe dvd burner)as the target, first it copies the dvd to a temp file on your hdd, worked fine, then it burns it to a dvd. Here was my problem, it would eject dvd and say something like unable to burn, or similar. I tried a few differant ways but never got it to work. A friend recently told me his burner only works with a certain type of dvd, so I checked what i was using, DVD-R (Ls's). I switched to DVD + R "lightscribe's" and it worked right away! Why is this?

If the drive's rather new, it should work fine either either + or -. An easy way to check would be download ImgBurn, select your destination drive as the one in question, then click Tools, Drive, and Capabilities. Here it will tell you every disk you can read and write

did

I went into My Computer and right clicked on both DVD drives and got into the properties and they both claim to burn + and - , but it is just not the case. Not really a big deal, i'll just have to use +'s. Anyone need 20 or so DVD -'s?
