If it's a high-quality PSU, you can. The power requirement estimates are for those Korean "Ping Hong Cheapo" PSUs (which can only supply the rated wattage in short burst and will die spectacularly when you have them under constant load) with a fair bit of just-in-case margin... if you have a high-quality unit (Corsair, OCZ, Silverstone, Antec...) chances are you can run it.
