Your own smtp server?

hey i want to know if it is possable to have your own smtp server. so have it be able to sent outgoing mail. if so how do i do it? what do i need?

Google it, Yes it's possible... Maybe a bit of junk to set up, nothing big though... SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, if it's simple I am sure it can be done by quite a few ppl, lol

anyways thats if your ISP will allow you..lol

no. i need it b/c i need to send mail for my forum... i would use gmail etc but the forum does not have ssl so i have to use one with out ssl and i dont know of any free ones. so i thought setting up my own would solve it
